Biography
My name is Chad Miller and I am from Norfolk, Nebraska. Now I reside in Salt Lake City, Utah, (a long way from any walleye fisheries) but am still passionate about walleye fishing.
I have fished professionally since the age of 20 and joined the walleye tournament circuits at the age of 25. I cut my teeth in the fishing industry while guiding professionally in Alaska on the upper Susitna River and in the Boundary Waters in Ely, Minnesota for Canadian Border Outfitters. I am fortunate to have found ways to pursue my love of fishing while also managing careers in both business and administration.
Currently, I am the Director of Communication Channels at Salt Lake Community College. I'm grateful my colleagues are supportive of my pursuit of tournament walleye fishing as traveling across the country to fish requires a significant time commitment to preparation and driving.
Also, I feel lucky to have a supportive wife and daughter who understand my passion for fishing and my determination to compete. I am thankful for their support of my avocation, especially my travels to tournaments and the associated time spent away from home.
Pursuing walleye championships, maintaining a full-time job, and supporting a family is difficult. Anglers often struggle to fish tournament circuits because of time constraints and monetary obligations. I hope to be the exception and prove that with support, motivation, and discipline, anything is possible!
